I’ve finally started the book. Oh yes, the damn novel that’s been brewing in my head like some poisoned stew, the one like every other person you pass on the street has festering somewhere inside them. Words spewed out like lava. A chapter seared itself onto paper so fast, I was dreaming cover art before the pages belched out of the printer. The story is like a parasite, a second head sprouted on the side of my neck that runs it mouth incessantly- whispers in my ear all the clever phrases that I will claim as my own. I am powerless before this thing. It churns and spits smoke, calls me a bitch every time I rest my eyes. Sometimes it lets me speak and I utter in a voice I cannot swear is wholly mine, “Tell me that you’ll read it, love it. Love me.”

Dale, true you've started? Or just poetry. If true, what is it about. I like the cover art lines. I had the same problem. I was more interested in the back story than the novel. Great end. Thanks. Gary

Gary~ Ah, now do I ever tell the truth in my poetry? Actually, I am hammering away at something rather dark, cynical, dreamy & sad... you know my specialties by now. We shall see. It's in my head and demands release, but I'm not sure I'm up to it. Cosi~ Would you please run my fan club? Lisa~ Yes, you certainly know about that alien head raving at you, don't you?? I appreciate the sympathy. It is like a rather chatty monkey on your back, wouldn't you say? take care all~dale |

Sometimes it lets me speak and I utter in a voice I cannot swear is wholly mine, “Tell me that you’ll read it, love it. Love me.” Dale, did you know my ex boyfriend? Just kidding. I love the demanding muse, its the center of one's passion--it's....living on little so you can write a book. Mary Oliver says she never got a job that was interesting because she didn't want to become interest. I tell that to myself whenever I think of changing careers. E |
